Cuts to NDIS Support Coordination and Plan Management What It Means for You

From July 1, 2025, the NDIS Pricing Arrangements have changed. For people living in remote Queensland, these changes are more than just numbers on a page — they impact the services people rely on every day.

What’s Changed:

  • Support Coordination (07_002_0106_8_3, 07_004_0132_8_3): Rates not increased, therefore reduced by inflation

  • Plan Management (14_034_0127_8_3): Removal of remote loading and set-up costs

The Local Reality:

Plan utilisation in our region is already below the state average of 75%:

  • Longreach: 55% across 86 plans

  • Barcaldine and Blackall: 61% across 76 plans

  • Barcoo, Boulia, Diamantina, and Winton: 62% across 34 plans

Lower prices mean less incentive for providers to remain in remote areas, at a time when many people still aren’t using the support they’re entitled to.

The Impact on People with Disability:

  • Harder to get help with navigating the system

  • Increased isolation and confusion

  • Missed opportunities for early intervention, therapy, or supports

The Impact on Providers:

  • Services may be withdrawn

  • Support coordination offerings reduced or removed

  • Increased staff turnover or provider exits
